Suspect death Nsw RG 1909/1960 Lismore, Johanna Hanley, parents John and Johanna, is actually Johanna Lynch. We know Johanna was residing in Lismore in 1892 - see her mother's (Julia McCarthy / Lynch / Delaney) death certificate. ----------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Confirmed by IGI Entry: Johanna Lynch, female Birth 1846 Dry Plains, Nsw, Australia Death 19 Mar 1909 Parents John Lynch, Johanna McCarthy

Details close enough to correct details to believe this is the correct one. Still need to check further. --------------------------------------------- Funeral Notice, The Northern Star (Lismore), Saturday 20 March 1909 The friends of the late Mrs John Hanley are invited to attend her funeral, to leave her late residence, Zadoc St., today (Saturday) at 2 pm, for the Roman Catholic Cemetery. There are no official records for this cemetery - what records exist are held by the Lismore Historical Society. The council records (and commerative plaque in the park) relied upon relatives notifying the council of known burials prior to the time the cemetery was decommissioned. 1,3,5

NOTE - It is possible that there was an error in the Birth registrations or the transcriptions, and that one of these two register numbers should be for Mary LYNCH, who died 1893, as a search for the birth of Mary has had no result. However the death notice for Julia Jane suggests that she was the eldest daughter, and if so then the two registrations are probably for the birth of Julia - need to check the register of get a copy of the certificates for both Mary and Julia Jane.

Robert CAWLEY email of July 11, 2003 says - I am reasonably confident that the following is Mary Ann Lynch's death. Nsw Reg Gen Death Index No. 1875/5738 Cooma matches. Possible death 1875, parents James and Julia, registered as BURNS ---- The Manaro Mercury, Cooma, Saturday 2 October 1875 Gegedzerick Another of our neighbours has crossed that bridge from which no traveller ever returns. Mrs Burns, of Dry Plain, has been cut off in the very prime of womanhood at the early age of about 30 years. The deceased was ailing for some time previous to her demise with abcess on the liver. Dr Macqueen did all that medical skill could devise for her, but she breathed her last on Monday. The funeral took place on Wednesday; it was largely attended by her friends but I have no doubt, if the fact of her death had been more widely known, the funeral procession would have been larger. She was buried in Gegedzerick Cemetery. The funeral service was read by one of the people. She leaves four young children and a wide circle of friends to mourn their loss. 6,27
